Russian Hacker Sentenced to 12 Many years for Role in Breaches of JP Morgan, Others


Crimes netted him $19 million overall.

Ruskies national Andrei Tyurin will function 12 years in prison for his role in a worldwide hacking campaign that pilfered private information from more than 80 million JP Morgan Chase clients in the largest-ever breach of a financial institution in the US.

Tyurin from 2012 to 2015 hacked several financial institutions, brokerages, and monetary news publications, including JP Morgan, E*Trade, Scottrade, and The Wsj, stealing personal data of more than 100 million customers of those organizations — all through his home in Moscow. He or she worked with co-conspirators including Gery Shalon, who together also perpetrated securities fraud and other nefarious activity.  

According to the US Secret Service, Tyurin produced some $19 million from his crimes. He was extradited in the nation of Georgia in Sept 2018 and has been in US custody since then.
